Studio visits with other artists provide the criticism, information and opportunity that institutions rarely supply. Sustained careers are almost never solitary.

Define success narrowly enough to reach it, and honestly enough that reaching it matters.

Pace the Year

Plan production, exhibition and rest as three distinct phases. A calendar that assumes constant output produces work you will later disown.
